Hollow victories and
Malevolent malcontent...

Were never enough to take away from me,
From my heart, nor from my soul,
So long as the last grain of sand remains
Haunting you, grating against the hourglass,
Painting a picture of blind demons that dwell so deep;
I will never give up, I won't give in.

They say
"If you don't stand for anything,
You will fall..."

Dreading the silence that runs so far down,
Refusing to allow them to chase me,
To trap me inside arbitrary corners;
How very obtuse a notion, to trap a wild creature...
I will not be chained down by your ideals.

Tried to lure me once more,
Into the hunter's snare...

I thought that you could set me free,
But you never had any power over me...
If I can give you that kind of power,
Then surely I can also take it away;
And you'll never take anything from me again.

And they said...
"This one bites back,
Maybe we should leave it alone...?"

I really like this poem c: It's the first one I've read for a while. It turned out really wonderful <3 It's so in depth with it's feelings and overwhelms me with the amount of emotion exhibiting from it's words. <3 Great work! :D
