I have flaws... And you have flaws...

My biggest problem is that everything I ever do,
All that I put time into and invest in,
Eventually it all just becomes
Something else to run away from,
Another reality where I don't fit in.

When I ask you not to judge me,
Maybe what I am really saying is
Not to reject me, to accept me as I am,
A perfect imperfection, imperfect perfection;
Caught between the darkness and the light.

A thousand scorched memories,
Long since burned into my retinas,
Scratching the corners of my psyche,
Raking across coals upon coals of hatred,
All burned to ashes, scattered like dust...

There's such a fine line that lies,
Between nostalgia and loneliness...
